Steel Builder is proud to have partnered with Richard Crookes Constructions to deliver the landmark Field of Dreams project for end client Suntory, located in Swanbank, QLD. Commencing in June 2023 and reaching completion by December 2023, this 3,500-tonne structural steel build stands as a major milestone in Australia’s industrial sector. As the country’s largest single Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) investment, the project has transformed Suntory’s greenfield site into a world-class, fully automated manufacturing and distribution hub. Spanning a 17-hectare industrial estate, the development encompasses state-of-the-art processing, packaging, warehousing, and distribution facilities, designed to support Suntory’s ambitious growth plans and evolving consumer demand. Central to the facility is the 38-metre-high automated high-bay warehouse, equipped with a cutting-edge Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). This groundbreaking installation is capable of producing over 80,000 cans per hour—equating to more than 20 million cases annually—placing the facility at the forefront of global FMCG innovation. Steel Builder’s role extended across the design, engineering, and erection phases, ensuring seamless delivery within the tight construction timeframe. The precision and scale required for the Field of Dreams project reflect Steel Builder’s capability to execute complex, high-volume projects that demand both technical excellence and efficiency. Completed on time and to program, the Field of Dreams facility not only represents a significant achievement for Suntory but also demonstrates how strategic collaboration between client, builder, and Steel Builder can deliver transformative industrial projects for Australia’s future.
